Fruitfulness is something we all desire in life. We are anointed to prosper in all that we put our hands to. But there are certain things in life that help us see the fruit that we long to bear. The main thing is being connected to the Vine! In relationship and communion with the Lord is the only way we can bear any fruit. As stated in John 15, without Him we can do nothing of eternal value
Part 5 – The last two areas that we are to add to our faith according to 2 Peter 1 is brotherly kindness and love. We are to add these with all diligence which is intense effort, with no attitude of slothfulness. Brotherly kindness is to treat affectionately, it is loyal, and it is to ‘like’ those in the body of Christ as you would those in your family. Love is a supernatural fruit, the agape love of God that has been shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. Love that enables you to love even your enemies. Peter uses both ‘brotherly kindness’ and ‘love’ to distinguish between that which one can naturally evoke and that which the Spirit enables. Actively pursuing these in your life will cause fruitfulness and clear sight!
