Contentment – Part 2

There are many believers in the body of Christ who are living with internal discontent because of external circumstances.  When the condition of our internal state is being governed by our external circumstances we are no longer walking in the spirit, we are no longer walking by faith.

In this series, we are going to look into Biblical contentment.  One of the great truths of Christianity is that our source of life and victory comes from within us.  Jesus said in John 4:13, 14 – that the water that He provides will become in us a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.

Paul said in Philippians 4:11 that he had learned how to live in contentment in whatever state (circumstance) he found himself in.  Join us as we discover from the Scriptures the truth and freedom of contentment provided for us in Christ.

Main Texts:  John 4:13 Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again,  14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” NKJV

Phil 4:11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content:

Part 2 – In our last message we discovered the Biblical definition of contentment, this contentment is a full reliance on the spring of living water within us through Christ Jesus no matter the external circumstances.  In this message we discover that this contentment is not walked in automatically it is learned as we grow through our fellowship with Christ.

“Biblical Contentment is learned.  Contentment is not a feeling or a mood.  Feelings change with the circumstances while contentment comes from a heart settled on the promises of God and remains stable no matter what they may occur.” – Bob Yandian
