God does not begin a good work in you without a plan to complete it. The One who started something in your life is faithful to finish it — but that process requires cooperation, training, and yes, correction. Hebrews 12 makes it clear: the Lord corrects those He loves. Pruning is not punishment — it is preparation. It strengthens weak hands, steadies feeble knees, and produces the peaceable fruit of righteousness in those who are trained by it. The question is not whether God is working. The question is whether we are allowing the training to take place. Depth of character is built through discipline, abiding in the Word, and trusting that what God removes makes room for far greater fruit.
