Why Did You Doubt (Part 2) “Keep Your Focus on The Lord”

There is a true story in the Bible about Jesus and Peter walking on the water together, this is recorded in the Gospel of Matthew.  We read in Matthew 14:31 – And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?  The last part of this verse is what we are looking at in this series.  Jesus is looking at Peter and asking a question and I believe this question was designed to cause Peter to search over the events that just took place in his life and help him discover why he doubted.  In this series, we are going to look at this question and discover the answer so we can stop doubt.

Part 2 – In this message, we look at the importance of keeping our focus on the Lord. Immature people are always impatient; mature people are patient and persistent. Impatience and unbelief usually go together, just as faith and patience do. “Be . . . followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises” (Heb 6:12). “For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise” (Heb 10:36). “He that believeth shall not make haste” (Isa 28:16).
