The Epistle Of Joy Chapter 4 – Part 12
We are continuing in the epistle of Philippians. In this series “The Epistle Of Joy Chapter 4” –
As we grow in the Lord and become familiar with the does and don’ts of the Christian life, it is easy to get complacent. We reason, “I know what the Scripture says, so why continue to study it?” We go through the outward motions of church attendance and Christian service, often becoming overly busy with religious activities. We think we have arrived.
Paul has experienced tremendous suffering caused both by his personal choices and persecution for the gospel’s sale. Despite all he has suffered he has, learned to experience a deeply abiding joy and peace, while keeping his heart and mind through Christ Jesus.
Part 12 – In this message we finally reach the conclusion of the study that we have done through the book of Philippians. In this message we discuss the final verses of chapter 4 and see several truths to live by. First, we must realize that the one receiving the offering should be careful to keep a heart of integrity and love for the giver and not the offering. Second, we see that our offerings are really not to people or ministries specifically, but they are given to the Lord, and He receives them as a sweet-smelling aroma. Finally, we see that the Lord supplies all our need according to His riches and glory. God desires to fill us up to the full in every area of our lives.
