Rooted (Depth Of Character) Part 4

John 15:1-“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.  2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.  NKJV

Heb 12:11 Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.  NKJV

In our series entitled “Rooted,” we are going to be taking a journey through the Scripture on what it means to be pruned by the Lord.  The Lord does not prune our lives to hurt us but rather to promote the increase of the fruit we produce for His Kingdom while here on earth.  In this series, we are going to look at the importance of correction in our lives and the depth of character that it will produce.  Come join us and get ready to increase in the peaceable fruit of righteousness.

Part 4 – This week we add knowledge to the list of things that we are to add to our faith.  Knowledge helps us be fruitful and productive in serving Jesus and advancing His Kingdom here on earth.  As we apply ourselves in reading and studying the Word of God, and we experience what we have learned by the Holy Spirit, then we become effective witnesses in our worlds for the Kingdom of God.

Knowledge – means “full knowledge” or “knowledge that is growing.” The word used here suggests Practical knowledge or discernment. It refers to the ability to handle life successfully.  Gaining understanding in the mind but also having an understanding through experience.
