Ministering Spirits – Part 7

Heb 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation? NKJV

One of the great provisions of God for His church is the ministry of angels.  In this series, we are going to explore the Scriptures concerning this ministry.  Angels and their Kingdom activity are mentioned through the Old Testament and the New Testament.  Our knowledge (experience) and faith will grow as we look to the Scriptures to educate us in this study.

  • It is of utmost importance that believers understand the ministry of angels in their behalf, that their faith might be encouraged regarding this gracious provision God has made for them.  It is surprising to find a number of commentators expressing their belief that the ministry of angels to men ceased at the Ascension of Christ, not to be resumed until His Return to earth.  This is difficult to understand in relation to Hebrews 1:14 where we are told: “Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?”  This certainly applies to believers today.  (Foundations Of Pentecostal Theology, Page 474)

Part 7 – We wrap up our series tonight by looking into several Scriptures from the Old Testament and the New Testament that describe the ministry of angels in the earth.

As we look through these many accounts in the Scriptures, I sensed the Holy Spirit kept impressing upon me to observe how angels effect or interact with the natural world we live in.  It is important to see this for the purpose of our faith and realizing that they touch with the unseen what we see.

  • Angels minister from the unseen into the seen.
  • They minister from the intangible to the tangible.
  • They minister from the unseen substance to the seen substance on behalf of the Body of Christ.
