Demonstrations (Part 1)
The Apostle Paul writing to the Corinthian Church said this in 1 Cor 2:4 And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. NKJV.
Demonstration – Manifestation, a making manifest or showing forth or proof. A pointing out or showing. A showing forth or display by the operation of the Spirit of God.
God desires that we have sound doctrine in our lives, His heart for us is that we have a solid foundation of Scripture to back up what we believe, in the mouth of two or three witnesses let every word be established. Along with a solid understanding of the Word of God we see here that He also desires that we have demonstrations of the Spirit in our lives as well. Notice Paul by the Holy Spirit said in verse 5 that our faith should be in the power of God. In this series we are going to take a look at different demonstrations of the Holy Spirit that took place in the Scriptures, to help bring faith and clarity to the demonstrations of the Holy Spirit you might have witnessed but not understood.
Part 1 – As we begin this series the Lord took us a little different direction than expected, He led us to two areas where most people can hinder the move of the Holy Spirit and those two areas are consecration and pride. Pastor Sean reviews several historical and current moves of God where the people show great consecration and a willingness to crucify their pride. You will be challenged as you listen, but the rewards of total submission to the Lord are above and beyond all you could ask or think.
