Culture Wars – Part 1
Our Wednesday night Bible Study is entitled “Culture Wars.” The Scriptures tell us in 1 Tim 4:1 BUT THE [Holy] Spirit distinctly and expressly declares that in latter times some will turn away from the faith, giving attention to deluding and seducing spirits and doctrines that demons teach, AMP. These are the days we are living in right now. In this series, we are going to touch on a few of the hot-button issues in the culture today.
Rick Warren put it this way – “Our culture has accepted two huge lies. The first is that if you disagree with someone’s lifestyle, you must fear or hate them. The second is that to love someone means you agree with everything they believe or do. Both are nonsense. You don’t have to compromise convictions to be compassionate.”
Part 1 – In this study, we open by taking a look at one of the main things that will happen in the earth before the return of Jesus Christ, we look at deception. Deception is a huge issue right now in the world and in the church. Deception is defined in Matthew 24 as “to roam from safety, truth or virtue. To go astray or to be out of the way by wandering or following error. To lead aside from the rigid way. Metaphorically it means to lead away from the truth.” Here is where we begin to lay the foundation for the series.
