Contentment – Part 6

There are many believers in the body of Christ who are living with internal discontent because of external circumstances.  When the condition of our internal state is being governed by our external circumstances we are no longer walking in the spirit, we are no longer walking by faith.

In this series, we are going to look into Biblical contentment.  One of the great truths of Christianity is that our source of life and victory comes from within us.  Jesus said in John 4:13, 14 – that the water that He provides will become in us a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.

Paul said in Philippians 4:11 that he had learned how to live in contentment in whatever state (circumstance) he found himself in.  Join us as we discover from the Scriptures the truth and freedom of contentment provided for us in Christ.

Main Texts:  John 4:13 Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again,  14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” NKJV

Phil 4:11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content:

Part 6 – In our conclusion to this series we discuss the importance of what we meditate on and how to quench the thoughts of the enemy.  Spiritual things are a lot like natural things.  In the natural it is easier to obtain something than it is to maintain something, this is true concerning Biblical truth as well.  Through the past 5 messages we have obtained truth concerning contentment and now we have the responsibility to maintain it.  Meditation of the truth and quenching the lies of the enemy will be key to living a life of contentment.  Our goal with this teaching is that we can say with Paul, “for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content.”
