In this series, we are going to look into the Scriptures concerning the subject of fasting.  Fasting is a great way to keep the desires of the flesh under control and it also heightens our sensitivity to the leading of the Holy Spirit.  As we are now breaking out of the current lockdown over the coronavirus this presents us with another great opportunity to allow the Lord to make the adjustments He desires for our lives.

As we look at the Scriptures, we will ask the Lord what He would have us to do in taking the time and seeking Him.  He may speak to you to fast and He may not but as disciples of Christ, we should always be open to setting aside things He requests to take extra time with Him for fellowship, correction, and direction.

Part 1 – We begin this series by looking at what consecration means.  Consecration means to be set like stone is set in place, it means to be dedicated to a sacred appointment.  Before we look into the practice of fasting we must have a consecrated heart.  We examine this truth from Jesus’s prayer time right before the cross in the garden of Gethsemane.
