Repentance - Part 3

Repentance is not a negative word -- it is one of the most powerful and positive forces in the Christian life. It is a decision of the mind to turn completely toward God and walk in a new direction. As Romans 2:4 tells us, it is the goodness of God that leads us there. Christianity is not just about getting into heaven. It is about discipleship, growth, and accessing the fullness of what God has made available to us. Through repentance, we gain access to the remission of sins, the gift of the Holy Spirit, and the resurrection graces Christ purchased for us. The best news? God is not waiting to condemn you. He is looking for your yieldedness, not your perfection. As Jesus declared in Matthew 4:17, the kingdom of heaven is at hand -- and repentance is the door.
