Sin has no dominion over the believer -- not because we try harder, but because of what Christ already accomplished. When you were born again, your spirit was made completely new. Now it is time to renew your mind and present your body as a living sacrifice to God (Romans 12:1). As Galatians 5:16 reminds us, when you yield to the Holy Spirit, you will abandon the cravings of the self-life -- not by striving, but by surrendering. Sin will not conquer you, for God already has.
