“Who Am I?” This question or a form of it has been asked throughout the bible when the God of Heaven would ask an individual to do something. During this conversation the individuals would immediately consider themselves inadequate or unqualified to accomplish the task.
The God of Heaven will ask every individual this same question. What will be our response? Or will we find ourselves giving the same response as Gideon did in Judges 6:14-15 NKJV: 14Then the Lord turned to him and said, “Go in this might of yours, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites. Have I not sent you?” 15 So he said to Him, “O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.” Thankfully Gideon went on to complete God’s will.
We are not weak, and it doesn’t matter what natural family we’ve been born into. What makes the difference is if we will take God at His Word. He is not a respecter of persons, but He is a respecter of faith. An example of this is when King Saul refused to defeat Goliath. A young man named David showed up on the scene full of faith and understood his covenant and identity in God. In doing so David finished the job that was King Saul’s responsibility.
More often than not we allow the enemy or our flesh to talk us out of a victory. If we will answer the question “Who Am I” with the Word of God, we will be prepared like David, confident and bold to face any circumstance that comes against us. Will we believe what God has said about us in His Word? The choice is yours!
Youth in 6th – 12th grade are welcome to come hang out with us for a power-packed weekend full of life-changing messages, worship, friends, concert with SERV the Rapper, Knockerball, 9 Square, Laser Tag, Miniature Golf, food, and more!
