Vessels Of Honor – Sunday Morning Bible Study

2 Tim 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. NKJV
2 Tim 2:20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. 21 Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work. NKJV
If we read the passages above in context we see Paul is instructing Timothy to watch out for false teachers. He is admonishing him to pay attention to the Scriptures and to make sure what he is believing and what he is teaching is founded on Scripture. Doing this causes Christians to purge themselves of the world and lies of the enemy. This process causes us to develop into vessels that are, “sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.”
Here at Faith Family Church, we are committed to helping believers develop into disciples. Jesus said in Matthew 28:19 that we were to make disciples of all nations. God has designed that every believer grows to the place where they are a vessel for honor.

This Sunday Pastor Josh Meeks will be teaching a message titled “Obedience or Disobedience – Your Choice”
Obedience and disobedience are a big deal with the Lord. But what is obedience and disobedience? Sometimes we need to go back and define words and decisions in our lives in order to gain clarity. We at times make such important decisions but need to reflect on them in order to see clearly. Mainly our decision to accept Christ as Lord and Savior needs to be inspected in order to move forward into victory. What we said and did in those initial moments with Christ have such an impact in our lives. If I’ve called him Lord of my life, am I than fulfilling it? In order to fulfill it we must understand what obedience and disobedience is?
