Men it is that time of year again where we come together and feast on the harvest of hunting season. This is a fun time for all men high school age and older to enjoy food, fun, and iron sharpening conversation. Every year we have a competition to see who prepares the best dish with their wild game and this year is no different. If you would like to compete in this make sure you check the appropriate box on the registration form. It is always fun to see who will be crowned best chef and take home the prize! Now if competition is not your thing, no problem, you can bring a dish to share (we encourage this, but not required) or just bring yourself and the crew and enjoy the food.
Our guest speaker this year is Pastor Perry Shockley. Perry has pastored Breakforth Bible Church for the past 2 1/2 years in Williston, ND. Prior to this he worked at RHEMA Bible college as the basketball coach for 21 years, leading them to multiple championships. He led many missions trips through the years in various places such as, Zambia, Peru, Russia, Mozambique and Guatemala. He also taught at RHEMA as an instructor for 3 years. He has been a leader in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for 15 years. One of his greatest hunting trophies is a Boone and Crocket black bear he shot in Alaska (picture below). Even with all these accomplishments Perry’s life would not have the meaning it does without his relationship with Jesus Christ. Perry will be sharing with us about the importance of that relationship and how we should make it a priority in our lives as well. God is so good to all of us, He gives us access to all of His creation as a witness to His goodness, but if you want to enjoy it to the fullest you must invite the Author of it all into your life. Make plans to be with us, you will not be disappointed!
Doors will open at 5:30. As you enter you will register at the welcome center and then you will be directed to the seating area in the sanctuary. If you are bringing a dish to share or one specifically for competition the greeters will point you in the right direction. Everyone who registers at the welcome center will be entered for our hunting giveaways, that’s right in addition to the prize for best dish there will be great hunting giveaways being done throughout the night.
