God designed men to lead and to protect. He commanded Adam to subdue the garden of Eden. Even though Adam failed, and sin entered the earth with all of its consequences God has not changed the purpose He has for men. Men are still called and equipped by God to keep the “serpent” out of their lives and the lives of those around them, to be champions for the Kingdom of Heaven. In order to do this, there must be a level of commitment in men to reach forward to what is ahead and to press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
This years theme for our Men Of Valor weekend is “Burn The Ships,” this statement signifies an intentional action designed to limit future choices to ensure unwavering dedication to a path. The great apostle Paul had this mentality, we see it in the letter he wrote to the Philippians, Phil 3:13 (NKJV) Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Being a male is a matter of birth. Being a man is a matter of choice. Manhood and Christlikeness are synonymous.
Gentlemen you may currently be reaching forward and pressing toward Christ, you may have burned the ships and are never returning, or you may be looking to reboard the ship and return to where you came from, to retreat, either way make plans to join us for this powerful weekend of ministry where you will experience the liberating power of the Holy Spirit and truth of Scripture which will transform your understanding and empower you to walk in what God has called you to be! By the power of Christ, we can lead in the good fight of faith in our marriages, families, businesses, churches and nation.
